Susan L. Jones Chief Executive Officer
Since 1995, the OCMD Hospitality Association, formerly the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association, has been led by Susan and the non-profit trade organization continues to serve as the voice of Ocean City hospitality. An experienced leader and master multi-tasker, Susan’s philosophy has always been to connect, communicate and collaborate. Building consensus continues to be a key element of her leadership style.
Born and raised in Worcester County, Susan graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and Towson University, though her adventure in hospitality began at a young age during her summer days waitressing at Layton’s on 16th.
Through the years, she has received numerous awards including, Worcester County and State of Maryland Tourism Person of the Year, Foodservice Monthly Foodservice Leader of the Year, as well as, Tourism Advocate and Visionary Impact Awards. Her proudest moment was receiving the Restaurant Association of Maryland Phillip’s Lifetime Achievement Award, along with a Governor’s Citation for that award. She and her husband Clay have 2 daughters. Her favorite motto is the Golden Rule, “do unto others as you’d have done unto you.” In her spare time, she enjoys being on the water, fishing, kayaking, relaxing and hanging out with family.
Kaylee P. Lathroum Director of Sales & Marketing
Kaylee is a graduate of Salisbury University’s Perdue School of Business, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a minor in Information Systems. Originally from Montgomery County, Maryland, Kaylee relocated to Ocean City in 2023 and brings a diverse professional background, including experience in property management and hands-on hospitality work as a summer server at the Reel Inn.
Her combined experience gives her a well-rounded perspective and a strong foundation for her role with the OCMD Hospitality Association. Kaylee is excited to connect with members and support the local hospitality community. Outside of work, you can often find her relaxing on the beach. She’s also recently checked learning how to ski off her bucket list. She and her husband Jake are the proud parents of their beloved golden retriever, Maverick.
